Mantero Seta and CHANEL have entered into a partnership with the acquisition of a minority stake in the Como-based textile company by the French fashion house. This step is a natural extension of the relationship that has connected the two companies for over 50 years and demonstrates their shared desire to strengthen the development potential of Mantero Seta in a highly competitive environment.

Mantero was assisted as financial advisor by the Mid Cap Advisory team of EQUITA - the Italian partner of Clairfield International, and by PedersoliGattai law firm for the legal aspects of the deal.

The Mantero family will continue to hold the majority of Mantero Seta and will lead the company with its management team, maintaining the same values as always, shared by CHANEL too.

“The deal represents an exciting accelerator for the development of investment and acquisition paths already initiated in recent years, as well as an important opportunity to refine our interpretation of customer needs thanks to an enhanced ability to understand and communicate, which will derive from a closer and more direct contact with the dynamics of the luxury and fashion world. An opportunity to be even more effective in pushing forward the new frontiers of our sector with renewed vigor.” — Franco Mantero, President of Mantero Seta

The company

Mantero was founded in Como in 1902. It is a family-owned textile company with a craftsmanship tradition passed down through four generations. With over a century of experience, it stands out internationally for its extraordinary competence in the creation and production of fabrics and accessories for the fashion and luxury industries, contributing significantly to the affirmation of Made in Italy and the prestige of the Como textile district. The company creates textile products of the highest quality, combining creativity and innovation with the company philosophy of Mantero Respect, which reflects its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

Founded in the 1920s, CHANEL is one of the leading global players in the luxury market. Its business is focused on three main areas: fashion (haute couture and prêt-à-porter), perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry. The fashion house is owned by the Wertheimer family, grandchildren of one of Coco Chanel's earliest partners. With a turnover of around 20 billion euros, CHANEL operates in about 70 countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East.
